Julie Foster's Story

Mar 15, 2013

It’s funny the things we remember in life sometimes, isn’t it? It’s not all the fancy vacations, the expensive the meals or even all the significant moments. Sometimes we remember the little values or morals that are instilled in us through those that matter in our lives.

Julie Foster’s father always believed in helping those who needed a helping hand on this earth. Today would have been her Mother and Father’s 73rd wedding anniversary, but, unfortunately her father past away this last January. In memory of her father, with the money he left behind, Julie will match, dollar for dollar, a $50,000 grant. Donations will go towards feeding, clothing and housing homeless men, women and children at the Denby Center in Detroit. All funds up to $50,000 will be matched until July 1, 2013. Those who help the homeless need us to step up, and stand the gap, and help “the lest of these”.

It’s the simple things in life. Giving back is so important when so much has been given to you. Paying it forward is one of the most valuable qualities a person can have. When we all work together we can make this world a good place, a wholesome place, a worthy place to inhabit. Let us not take pride in ourselves, but what we do and the legacy we leave behind for others. Julie Foster and family are well on their way to doing this. Let us follow her to achieve something bigger than ourselves by July1.
