Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle was full of roaring laughter on March 26. The Salvation Army’s second annual Comedy for a Cause event provided a packed room full of people along with hilarious comedians Crystal P. and Jeff Allen. These clean and witty entertainers had the audience in stitches the whole night.
Proceeds from the event went directly to The Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread Club® Radiothon fund. Jeff Allen even agreed to donate every cent of the profit earned from sales of his merchandise that night to the cause. The merchandise sales totaled out to around $800. Mirage Catering generously provided a wonderful buffet spread for the event free of charge. Garden Fresh Gourmet and Michigan Financial sponsored the event.
They say laughter is the best medicine and the laughter of the large audience could have cured any illness on the 26th. More importantly, however, Comedy for a Cause was created to cure something more important. It is meant to cure the hunger pangs and cold nights many of the less fortunate have to experience on a day-to-day basis with your help. The commitment of Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, the comedians who performed, The Salvation Army, Garden Fresh Gourmet, Michigan Financial and Mirage Catering go a long way towards ensuring every person who needs a meal or who needs shelter in the metro Detroit area will have it. More importantly, God Bless all of you out there who donate your time and/or money towards the cause. You are the ones who are truly “Doing the Most Good”!
